Marc Wetherington
Marc Wetherington is the Founder and Principal Consultant at MakeWaves LLC, bringing more than 20 years of hands-on experience in operations management, logistics, workflow design, and business development across a range of industries.
His career began on the floor, in warehouses, at shipping docks, and behind ERP terminals, where he developed a ground-level understanding of how businesses actually function under pressure. Over time, that front-line experience expanded into multi-location team leadership, purchasing and inventory strategy, and executive-level performance reporting.
Throughout his career, Marc has designed and standardized operational workflows for businesses that had grown informally and needed real structure, led cross-functional teams through systems transitions, built SOP documentation libraries from scratch, and developed reporting tools that gave leadership teams genuine visibility into how their business was performing, without requiring enterprise software budgets.
What Marc learned across those environments is consistent regardless of the product or service being delivered: you cannot optimize what you haven’t defined. Redundant tasks, broken handoffs, and inconsistent execution are invisible until someone maps the full scope of how work actually moves through the business. That diagnostic work, not technology, is where transformation starts.
He also learned that a documented process is never just a reference document. It’s a training tool, a performance standard, and the mechanism that lets a team member genuinely own a role. When a founder is the only person who knows how something gets done, they can never fully step away from it. Structured SOPs change that, by giving the team a clear picture of what accountability looks like in their specific role, and giving the founder the confidence to hand it off.
Marc founded MakeWaves on that conviction. Most businesses that struggle with growth, inefficiency, or failed technology investments don’t have a technology problem.
